Historically, the concept came from America. Sales after Thanksgiving, which falls on Thursday, have always been popular. The first known mention of Black Friday was November 1951 in Factory Management. The editors used the term to describe the day after Thanksgiving, when many workers took time off for health reasons. In fact it turned out 4 days off, during which people could relax and go shopping in search of discounts.
